Who is
Lisa McIntyre?

Lisa McIntyre is the President of the Northville Board of Education and a fierce advocate for students, families, and mental health. She’s running for State Representative because she believes Michigan families deserve leaders who listen, who lead with empathy, and who solve problems instead of making excuses.

As a mother of three, Lisa knows what it means to fight for a better future. On the Northville Board of Education, Lisa has delivered real results. She led efforts to stabilize the district after the pandemic, led initiatives for school safety and an away for the day personal device policy for K-8 students, ensured students and staff had the support they needed, and kept the budget strong while improving the work experience for educators. Under her leadership, Northville continues to be one of Michigan’s top public school systems, because she knows great schools don’t happen by accident — they require planning, partnership, and leadership that puts people first.

Lisa’s story starts in Indiana, where she grew up in a pretty typical family, gardening and baking with her mom, visiting the library with her dad, and spending Sundays with her grandparents after church. When her grandfather faced a mental health crisis tied to his experiences in World War II, Lisa saw how community and quality care helped him find his way back. That experience planted the seed for her life’s work — and her deep belief that no one should struggle alone.

She was one of the first women in her family to attend college. While earning her psychology degree from Kalamazoo College, she worked at the University of Chicago’s Orthogenic School on autism treatment research. After completing her master’s in mental health counseling, she built a successful practice supporting women and families through everything from postpartum depression to elder care challenges.

Now, Lisa is stepping up to represent this community in Lansing. She brings a record of public service, a lifetime of experience in mental health, and a deep understanding of the values that make Michigan strong. She’s not interested in political games — she’s running to deliver results for the people she serves.s.
